3rd XI - Top of the league and unbeaten!

Under the guidance of new captain and 3rd XI superstar Sahil Basandrai the team have gone from strength to strength. After a poor 2016 season, finishing bottom of the table (excluding Urchfont 2nd XI who pulled out) they have started 2017 with a bang.

After last years constant battle with fielding 11 players in the 3rd XI, this year has been the complete opposite! After a massive influx of players over the winter we now have 40 players available every week. It's now a constant headache for Sahil to rotate the players and keep everyone involved!

Starting this season with a tough away trip to Swindon Nalgo, Sahil lead from the front with 60* in his sides total of 216 before bowling Swindon Nalgo out for 75, with veteran Graham "G Dawg" Booth taking 4-20 in his 9 overs.

They have taken the momentum from that game forward, hitting scores of 217, 230 and 158 in big wins over Bathford, Chippenham and Avebury. Last week they almost hit a bump in the road but the experienced pair of Graham Booth and Phil Rutland saw them over the line, chasing a meagre 63 for victory, 9 wickets down!

They face a 5th placed Wanborough side tomorrow at Bratton hoping to extended their unbeaten run to 7 games! Good luck to Sahil and the guys!
